Oregon State University was founded in 1868 in Corvallis, Oregon. Its main campus is nestled on over 420 acres in the Willamette Valley. OSU is designated as one of only 73 universities in the country with a land-grant, and it is one of only two that hold a land-grant, sea-grant, space-grant and sun-grant distinction.  Along with its branch campus, OSU hosts a variety of online degree programs and continuing education courses through its Professional and Continuing Education (PACE) division.

1. Provide outstanding academic programs that further strengthen our performance and pre-eminence in five thematic areas.
2. Provide an excellent teaching and learning environment and achieve student access, persistence, and success through graduation and beyond that matches the best land grant universities in the country.
3. Substantially increase revenues from private fund raising, partnerships, research grants, and technology transfers while strengthening our ability to more effectively invest and allocate resources.
